creativity is hard!
Do you spend hours looking at
other people's art wishing you had what it took to create instead of just scrolling?

Do you question if you are even creative, even though your heart aches for it?
Is there never any time for your creative practice?
Do you talk about making time but never actually get to it?
Are you waiting for the muse, the perfect studio, the right time?
Do you question everything you make, tearing it apart before you even start?
Do you proudly identify as a perfectionist but see little work coming from your studio?
Does the voice in your head constantly tear you down and make you doubt yourself?
Do you feel like everything has already been done and that
originality is a joke?
Is your creative practice stuck?
Has your work gotten tight and lifeless? Are you complacent in your work and afraid to venture outside your comfort zone?

I have struggled
I have struggled with every one of those questions and feelings. I know what it feels like to long to create but doubt yourself every moment. I have always known that creating was at my center
but knowing that did not make the process any easier.
I had a direction but no map.
Don't get me wrong, my path has not been an easy one. But on my journey, I have learned to honor my creativity, find originality, so many things to make the road easier and kinder to myself.
I learned that the biggest obstacle on my road lived inside of me, my brain.
I learned that to be satisfied with my creative life and actually my entire life,
I had to learn to work with my brain and get it to stop working against me.

I also learned the incredible value of coaching. In a short period of time coaching took me from selling my work at craft fairs to gallery representation, museum installations, and international exhibits. My teaching career went from four students in my small studio to international conferences and online courses with hundreds of students
from all over the globe. But more important than any of the outside accomplishments was finding my unique voice and sinking into a satisfying creative practice that was fulfilling and meaningful.
I struggled to create my own map putting it together from many teachers, many mistakes, and lots of studying.
I want to share my map and be your guide in building your own.

life and creativity
We cannot separate our daily lives from our creativity. They are one and the same. If you are frustrated and unhappy in your life you can not develop a healthy creative practice.
* Discovering what you want in your life.
* Knowing what you don't want in your life.
* Having a healthy and loving relationship with yourself which includes your self talk and thought process.
* Dealing with mental and physical barriers.
These are all foundational to having the creative life you want.
My coaching is holistic, incorporating all parts of your life.
We will develop a plan for your growth that is customized to you. We will adapt and allow that plan to change as you change.

We start with a 15-minute discovery call that allows us both to assess if we are a good fit for taking a journey together.
Sessions are primarily done via zoom. However, I am open to the telephone if technology is a barrier for you. If you are local and vaccinated studio visits are also a delightful option,
In our first session 90-minute session
we will dive deep into your desires and fears around creativity. Together we develop a program that is specific to YOU, your life, and your unique creative journey.
As a coach, I am down-to-earth and practical. I embrace humor and making mistakes as some of our greatest teachers.
I am crazy passionate about creativity and want to share that passion with you.

how does it work?
Hear what others have to say about working with Clarissa
What Clarissa provides in her coaching is a safe portal for play, exploration, discovery, as well as skill development. What strikes me most is her generosity: with materials, feedback, as well as emotional and creative support and guidance. She met me where I was, witnessed and heard my challenges and obstacles, valued questions, and nudged me when appropriate. It’s clear through her art and her teaching that she explores the creative process inside out, sideways, and back again.
